I've never met Tom Sterling as, from my experience, you rarely if ever meet the actual agent in a State Farm office. But, the office personnel are not very friendly. I have dealt with one person, Christine I believe, who was very helpful and nice. However, even if I call to talk to her and have to get transferred through someone else, my call is always handled as a nuisance. There is often hostility in the voices of the people who answer and I have been treated as an unnecessary interruption. I do not mean that I call to complain either. When I recently called to have the declaration page for my renter's insurance faxed to the rental office where I live, the tone and shortness I experienced from the person who answered the phone was astounding. When I asked if it could be faxed I was told (with annoyance) that it would be faxed but not the same day. Everyone gets busy. But if I pay my insurance and need proof of that insurance for my living arrangements, I feel like taking 2 minutes to fax something should not be treated as a burden. The previous office I was associated with was wonderful (Mary Cath Herforth in Monroeville). I never experienced anything like what I have experienced at this office. Shortly after transferring offices (because we moved out of the area of Mary Cath), we made an appointment to meet with someone. When we came in for the appointment, one person literally rolled their eyes and pointed to "upstairs" where we needed to go. We basically wondered around until we found the right office. Overall, I would not recommend this office due to the rude way with which customers are handled.
