You would be surprised how much insurance rates can vary zip code to zip code even if the zip codes are within the same metropolitan area. This can be for various reasons including higher or lower crime rates in a specific zip code area, accident statistics in that zip code, traffic density in different parts of the city, and even different weather conditions depending on what part of the metro area you are in. This can become even more interesting if you live on the border of a different zip code yet your are paying more for insurance than you would if you lived right across the street. While some people will use this to their advantage and give their insurance company a different address than their actual address to save some money it is not advisable as this may be seen as a form of fraud.

I have been an AAA member for many years and value their automobile services. Some of their advertisements offering items of questionable relevance leave one cold. Today in the mail there appeared an offer for a FREE! Cellular phone with FREE shipping and on and on. The word FREE (always capitalized in large print) appears six times on the first page, six times on page 2, twice on page 3 and three times on page 4. In a small print footnote, the offer whispers sotto voce that a $35 activation fee is required. Given the probable functionality of the phone in the absence of activation, it is not clear why the activation fee is treated as a separate element. The attempt to hide the real cost of service and the assumption that seventeen occurrences of âFREEâ obfuscate an obligatory cost component are insulting. Why should I respond to to an ad that insults me? No sale, AAA.
I recently got engaged and being that I'm an alumni of the University of Washington, I had always seen the Frank Fu agency up the block from where my apartment was on the Ave. My fiance and I decided to come here to look into engagement ring insurance and life insurance. Our experience with Frank directly was great because he showed us many different cost options and policy choices without making us feeling we were wasting his time. We chose to sign up for life insurance with 2 different types of policies for the both of us and for the ring insurance, Frank allowed us to take our time and due diligence in shopping around for the best rate. We ended up coming back here because although a few other companies were a few dollars cheaper (seriously, just a few), we thought the service and face to face interaction was worth it per year.
I have two policies with Secord and Devin Englemann has handled both. He was both professional and personable, taking great care to make sure that I received the best value for my money, without purchasing coverage I didn't need. Not only did he save me money on my auto insurance, but he was able to get me reasonable coverage for my wife's business for much less than other companies quoted me. His straightforward and honest approach was in direct contrast to the misleading and unprofessional tactics we experience with other companies. I recommend Devin and Secord both very highly. I wish all businesses knew how to operate like Secord. -- Sean
